​75 Indian Villages Will Be Developed With Israeli Assistance

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who has been in Israel for four days on official business since May 8, met with his Israeli counterpart Oded Forer at the Knesset on Wednesday.

 

According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, they discussed various issues related to modern agro techniques, capacity building, knowledge transfer, and support in the fields of agriculture, water management, environment, and rural development, while keeping in mind the scope and potential of agriculture development in both countries.

As India and Israel mark 30 years of diplomatic relations, the visiting minister stated that the ongoing bilateral partnership would be strengthened through "mutual visits and sharing of experiences." The two countries actively cooperate in technology, trade, and innovation.

 

The Agriculture Minister also praised Israel for its expertise in water management and said that the knowledge transfer from Israel to India would be strengthened through collaboration with cutting-edge agro-technologies. He emphasized that India's agricultural growth depends on increased investment in research and development, particularly in water management.
